THERE'S A THIN LINE BETWEEN GENIUS AND INSANITY...AND WE PLAN TO BLUR IT!!! The Padded Room is like no other Open Mic!!! Held on the south side of Chicago, the Padded Room is a mixture of spoken word, Hip Hop, comedy, writing prompts, and powerful conversation.

Never been to a Padded RoOm open mic night? Here's how it goes:
🕖 7-8pm: Sip and Prompt
Cocktail Hour Writing Workshop
Fuel your creativity with a sip and a prompt! Complimentary drink from our champagne wall included. Open to all writers: poets, singers, comedians, etc. Take the prompt and be creative with it!
🕗 8-10pm: Open Mic
Step up, speak out, and blur the line between genius and insanity. The first 15 poets are guaranteed to spit, so sign up early! No additions to the open mic list after 9pm.
🕙 10-11pm: Mingle in the Madhouse
Mix and Mingle Hour
Connect and unwind in networking hour designed to let the Artist, Vendors, and guest get to know one another.
We'll have amazing black-owned vendors on site, so come ready to support local businesses!
🚭 No smoking inside, but our smoker's lounge will be open on the patio.
